Lies uncommitted

Lies — burning, stabbing, deep
Uncommitted
Poised to stitch the fabric
Of lies not told
Lies that lie in wait
That hold you by the throat
That squeeze your vocal cords
Into submissive silence
Lies take your breath away
Become your only blanket
The cross-stitch of lies committed
And those omitted
One sowing the other reaping
In the innocence of the chill
Slithering into the crevices
Of your pillow to whisper
Their arrival in your dreams
