Grief

Tell me about your grief
Its choke collar around your neck
How it bathes your every step
Envelops your every breath
Splashes itself on your walls
Grips you by the hair when
You try to get away
Pulls your face toward
Its mouth when you drift
Howl your grief until
It crashes to the floor
Until it stretches its arms
Imploringly and you
Seat yourself next to it
And hold its hand
